Privacy vs. Security

The average American is caught on camera at least 70 times a day.

After the recent bombings in London, British officials announced that the average Londoner was captured on camera 335 times a day.

Spy satellites can se what you are reading while you're relaxing during your lunch break in central park.

Smile everytime you walk up to the ATM machine and whatever you do don't pick your nose.

And don't forget all of the home video cameras and cell phone cameras.

Big Brother is here...but so is Osama Bin-Laden.

So what is more important...privacy or security

Is this for real? Do you really see people who think they are alone messing around and stuff?

What I showed is only the tip of the iceberg. I am hoping other civic minded Security specialists will expose the amazing invasions of privacy that are going on right now.

Yeah well I for one am glad the cameras are there...look how fast they caught those radical morons in London. They had everything on tape - besides people shouldn't be shagging at work anyway

The idea that this "security" is a countermeasure against Osama Bin Laden is bogus. We knew about Osama Laden long before september 11th, we just chose to ignore the warning signs! And so what do we do to remedy that fact? Pass the patriot act which only serves to limit Americans freedoms? The idea is deplorable. In an age where we are finally able to see true privacy being achieved in what we do in the bedroom as well with our own bodies, the notion that our library records are first and fourth amendment rights could be so easily taken away is truly worrisome. We don't need these laws, we don't need racial profiling. We just need to realize that we are as vulnerable as anyone else and pay attention to the information we were already getting!
